PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): A Providence mother is at Rhode Island Hospital with possible brain bleeding after being charged with a DUI with her four small children in the car, according to police.

Natasha Mitchell ran a red light and crashed her car on N. Main St. around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Her children, ranging from 7 months to 9 years old were sent to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Police say the children suffered minor injuries, including bruises and cuts. Two of them were not wearing seatbelts. All four have since been released.

Small bottles of alcohol were  found in the car, according to police. An officer told ABC6 that Mitchell was so intoxicated that she did not want her children to be treated.

According to records, Mitchell has 3 open cases with the Rhode Island Traffic Tribune. She is also charged with domestic violence and is supposed to appear in court on October 28th.

When Mitchell is released from the hospital, she will be arraigned in court.
