Heroin, cash seized in major drug bust

By News Staff
A drug investigation has led to seven arrests in 9 days at three locations across Providence.
Police seized heroin, suspected fentanyl, guns, cars, and over $65,000 in cash.
The arrests happened on Pearl Street, Pocasset Avenue, and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin say it’s just the beginning in the fight against drugs.
“This is a problem that’s not just limited to Rhode Island not just limited to Providence…it’s nationwide. And one thing that is often forgotten in this fight to stop people from dying from heroin overdose is the role police play to take it off the streets to stop the distribution and really stop it at its source.”
The heroin had a street value of around $600,000.
