Rep. Casimiro and Sen. DiMario collect pajamas for foster care youth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Representative Julie A. Casimiro and Senator Alana M. DiMario recently donated over 425 pairs of pajama pants to the Foster Forward program in celebration of the holidays.
Casimiro and DiMario began the project on November 1, receiving donations from the community and the state house, with assistance from Megan Cotter, Chair of the Exeter Democratic Town Committee.
“In the spirit of the season of giving, we hoped many Rhode Islanders would join us in helping and supporting our youth in foster care and we are very grateful to report that our calls were answered. This time of year is especially hard for these children who have already gone through so much and Rhode Islanders truly came together to brighten their spirits and provide them with the items they need to have a good holiday season. Thank you to all those who participated and for letting the children in foster care know that they are not forgotten,” said Representative Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter) and Senator DiMario (D-Dist. 36, Narragansett, North Kingstown).
Besides pajamas, over 60 books were donated, alongside gloves, mittens, duffel bags, pillows and toys, all to make the holidays more merry.
