A very exciting start to the Division 1 State Championship series! Hendricken takes a very quick lead after scoring 17 seconds into the game. This first goal was scored by the captain Reilly Miller.

What happened next made Hawks fans uneasy, as Mount Saint Charles scores 3 goals in a span of 58 seconds in the second period. Now, with all of the momentum and then some, MSC was feeling good about their championship chances.

This one was not over yet, the Hawks would go on to tie up the game by the end of the second period. With that, we would start the 3rd and final period all locked up at 3.

After a defense-heavy 3rd period, where the goalies were practically on their heads, someone had to break the defensive trend. After many saves and wild opportunities, Hendricken would score with 4 minutes left in the game.

This goal would prove to be the winner, only after MSC had a goal taken away with 3 seconds left, what a heart breaker for the Mounties this was.

The two teams will play game 2 on Saturday, 3:00 pm. at Meehan Ice Arena.
