High school students in Burrillville got an up close look at the dangers of distracted and drunk driving. On Tuesday they took part in a dramatization of a deadly car crash. It was acted out by students and local first responders.
The idea was to give the students, who will be heading off to college or the working world, a look at just how dangerous it can be to get behind the wheel drunk or distracted. It featured students covered in blood yelling, police, firefighters, EMT’s and later a funeral director responding to the scene.
The mock crash was put on by the Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition. The organization hopes to continue the demonstration with the help of local first responders for future graduating classes.
