Man arrested on gun charges in New Bedford

New Bedford Police arrested an 18-year-old man who was in illegal possession of a gun while walking around the south end Friday evening.
Around 6:15pm, detectives on patrol saw the man, Nelson Faber, walking in the area of Bedford St. and Acushnet Ave. Faber, who was outstanding warrants for his arrest, was arrested without incident.
Detectives found a loaded .380 caliber gun in his pockets.
Faber does not have a license to carry. He will be arraigned Tuesday on gun charges.
