35-year-old Katherine Pimentel faced a Fall River judge Tuesday…7 years after skipping town.
The former Providence woman and exotic dancer was due in court back in 2009, accused of stabbing another stripper inside the bathroom of the King’s Inn in Dartmouth two years earlier.
That woman suffered severe injuries to her face and arm, and Pimentel was facing a laundry list of charges, including armed assault with intent to murder.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn says she showed up to all of her court appearances, until one December day in 2009…the day her trial was set to begin – she never showed up.
"She was tracked down in the Dominican Republic…in February of this year."
On Friday, Pimentel was brought back into custody of Dartmouth Police to face those charges.
The District Attorney says even though this case 7 years, often times, fugitives are never found.
"I’m very happy at this point that she’s been brought back to face the charges and she’ll have her day in court… but so will the victim."
Pimentel was held without bail.
