Taunton PD officer saves family from house fire

A family in Taunton safe this morning thanks to a police officers quick thinking.

On Wednesday night an officer was driving by a home on Longmeadow Avenue when he saw the back of the house on fire.

The officer jumped into action by busting down the door and pulled a mother and her young son from the home.

Fire officials say they were asleep and had no idea there was an emergency.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
