Two New Bedford men arrested on cocaine charges

New Bedford police arrested two men on drug charges Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities from the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau took Ailton Pina, 22, and Ismael Gomes, 21, both of New Bedford, into custody at an apartment on Nash Road.

Inside the apartment, where Gomes was found packaging narcotics, investigators found $1,000 worth of cocaine, heroin, prescription pills, .223 caliber ammunition, and over $30,000 in cash.

Pina and Gomes were arraigned Thursday morning at New Bedford district court.
