SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE)- A woman was arrested on Saturday afternoon after a police chase on Route 195 West, according to Massachusetts State Police.

State police said that 47-year-old Claudete Brown, of New Bedford, led police on a chase from Mattapoisett to Seekonk.

Brown had been stopped in the breakdown lane in what appeared to be a disabled Dodge Nitro at about 10:45 a.m. A state police trooper stopped to assist her, at which point Brown sped away.

The trooper turned on his lights and sirens, but Brown refused to pull over. He then called for back up.

Troopers and members of the Seekonk Police Department set up multiple tire deflation devices across the road ahead of the chase.

Brown hit the first deflation device and was able to continue driving. When she hit a second device, she slowed down and pulled over.

She was charged with failure to stop for police, marked lanes violation, and left lane restriction.
