A fire in Providence sent one man and a firefighter to the hospital Friday night. Multiple people were trapped inside.
Fire officials say 5 people had to be rescued from the home on Barrows Street. Three people were trapped on the third floor, including two children.
The fire started at about 9:40 p.m. and took about 40 minutes to put out.
This all started as a kitchen fire. Officials say it was contained to the first floor but it sent one man to the hospital with first and second degree burns.
The two children and the adult on the third floor had to be rescued by ladder.
During the rescue, a firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was also transported to the hospital.
