Two men who got into a fight at Monday’s Donald Trump rally have been arrested and charged, State Police say.

Josh Sandin, age 19, of Warwick and Alexander Carrion, age 22, of Providence, were arrested and charged Wednesday with simple assault and disorderly conduct after a video of their fight went viral on social media.

The video shows Carrion pushing his way through Trump supporters and moving towards Sandin to spit in his face. They began pushing and shoving one another, and after being separated, Sandin spit at Carrion.

Both Carrion and Sandin were released on $1,000 personal recognizance. They both have a pre-trial date of May 9.

An investigation was conducted at the Trump rally, but the initial investigation was inconclusive due to the suspects’ lack of cooperation and conflicting witness reports.
