Providence police officer charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny

PROVIDENCE, RI- Jesse Ferrell, a 19- year veteran of the Providence Police Department was arraigned Friday evening at his own police station, after he was charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny Friday morning.
Ferrell, 49, was arrested for reportedly breaking into Distribution Services of RI, located at 135 Harris Ave, to steal coupons and other cut-outs from the Providence Journal newspaper. The business is an independent contractor for home delivery of the newspaper.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by Distribution Services of Rhode Island two weeks prior.
Officer Ferrell is suspended without pay, and has been released on $10,000 personal recognizance. The investigation is ongoing.
