Governor Raimondo staffer, former State Rep., resigns

By News Staff
One of Governor Raimondo’s advisors has resigned.
Former State Representative Donald Lally Jr. sent out his letter of resignation Thursday.
He was the Small Business Liaison, saying in his letter to Governor Raimondo that in his position he “provides the business community access to your administration and your departments.”
He took the post in July, only three months after he resigned from the General Assembly.
Many were upset with his appointment, saying his job violated Rhode Island’s “revolving door law”, which prevents lawmakers from having state employment for a year after they leave the General Assembly.
