President Clinton campaigns at CCRI for Hillary

President Bill Clinton drew in well over 1,000 people to the Warwick CCRI campus Thursday as he stumped for his wife, Hillary Clinton.
"We’re rebuilding now and the question is what’s the best way to rebuild. Hillary believes we have to have more jobs, better paying jobs, reduced inequality, tear down all of the barriers and keep people from taking advantage of it,” said Clinton.
This visit comes 12 days before Rhode Island’s primary. Clinton has been the front runner for months, but her rival Bernie Sanders has been catching up.
The Clintons do have a strong history in the state; in fact the former Secretary of State did win the primary in Rhode Island over then candidate Barack Obama in 2008.
Thursday, the President explained why he thinks his wife is the best person for the job.
"We’re in a better position for the future than any place else so the question is how do you create one where we can all rise together. Hillary is running for president so we can all rise together,” said Clinton.
With 24 delegates up for grabs many in the crowd tell ABC 6 News they think last minute visits like this can be crucial.
"I think it shows that they really care about reaching every corner of America,” said Daniel Bateson.
"Bill coming out here shows a lot of initiative for her campaign. It shows that she actually cares about the people of this state because I feel like this is one of those state’s that a lot of people forget about,” said Emma Rabiner.
