Police in Seekonk are investigating after a middle school student reported a suspicious man approached him in a truck at his bus stop.

Police say the encounter happened on Tuesday at around 7:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of Newman Avenue.

The student told police that a man stopped in front of the student in an old, small pickup truck that was dented, possibly with Massachusetts Plates.

The student says the man stared at the student and when the student began to back away and use a cell phone to call a parent, the man slowly drove away and displayed a middle finger at the student.

Police describe suspicious person as a white male, bald and in his late 60’s. They say it does not appear to be an abduction attempt and they are not treating it as such.

Police will be monitoring the area in the hopes of identifying the man and determining his intent.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to call Seekonk Police.
