Home security cameras capture 2 suspects during a break-in

A Fairhaven homeowner caught two would-be-robbers right in the act on a live-stream video surveillance app.
Damien Girard tells ABC 6 News that he got an alert on his computer at work just before 8 am on Friday. When he opened up his Nest app he saw two strange men in his house talking to his dog.
"There was full on panic mode. I only work a couple of miles away so I rushed her while on the phone with 911,” said Girard.
The video shows the men walking around the first floor and quickly making their way upstairs. Police with guns drawn can be seen rushing into the the Howland Road home.
They were able to quickly arrest 28-year-old Brian Chandanais. But, the other man 29-year-old Jay Burtch jumped from a second story window. If look closely at the surveillance video you can see the shadow of him falling.
Girard says he arrived home with enough time to chase to chase Burtch down the street.
"I was the leader of the pack I was the first one chasing them with the cops behind me. They ended up passing me because that was like the first time I ran in 30 years I think. I’m still catching my breath,” said Girard.
Chandanais was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony, vandalism, larceny from a building, possession of burglarious instruments, and resisting arrest. Burtch was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony, two counts of vandalism, possession of burglarious instruments, disturbing the peace, and larceny from a building.
