Alaskan man arrested at Dartmouth motel on gun charges

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE)- Officers from the Dartmouth Police Department arrested an Alaskan man at a local motel on Tuesday.

Police said that 48-year-old Andrew Whitehorn was found illegally carrying a pistol inside of his vehicle.

Investigators had been serving an arrest warrant for Whitehorn at the Baymont Hotel.

Officers were able to get a search warrant for his vehicle and found the loaded .45 handgun, as well as several rounds of ammunition.

Whitehorn was charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card, and improper storage of a firearm.
