State police investigating fatal motorcycle accident

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) -State police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that happened Friday afternoon on Rt. 4 In East Greenwich.

The victim has been identified as Derek LeBlanc, 30, of Warwick. 

Police say LeBlanc died after his motorcycle crashed into the median on the southbound lane of Rt. 4 just north of Rt. 2 (South County Trail). 

Police said they received calls around 4:40 p.m.

LeBlanc was transported to RI Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause remains under investigation.
