Two arrested in New Bedford heroin delivery service

Two New Bedford men were arrested in connection to a heroin delivery service out of an apartment at 23 Tallman Street.

Jonathan Rodriguez-Lopez, age 31, was taken into custody at 7:30 on Wednesday night after he left the home. Police obtained search warrants for both his apartment, the residence at 23 Tallman Street, and his car, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. He is facing charges of trafficking in heroin and conspiracy.

A passenger in Rodriguez-Lopez’s car, Angel Helena, age 25, was also found to be in possession of a gram of heroin. He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy.

In total, authorities seized 41 grams of heroin, cutting agents, packaging materials, digital scales, a heroin pressing device and over $52,700 in cash. The heroin has a street value of roughly $4,000.

Both Helena and Rodriguez-Lopez will be arraigned in New Bedford district court.
