The Massachusetts State Police are advising everyone of a fundraising scam relating to the death of Trooper Thomas Clardy, who died last week of injuries suffered when his cruiser was struck by a vehicle.

Police are investigating a report of someone going door-to-door in Tewksbury alleging to be a part of a police organization collecting funds for Trooper Clardy’s children.

Neither Mass. State Police, nor any other police organization to their knowledge, are collecting donations by telephone or in person.

The only legitimate foundations collecting donations are the following two:

The Clardy Children’s Fund

C/O Avidia Bank

42 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749

The Greg Hill Foundation
