A driver involved in the serious multi-vehicle accident that closed Route 99 north in Lincoln Tuesday morning has been arrested.

State Police say 26-year-old Bruce Choiniere, Jr., was driving south in the northbound lane of Route 99 in Lincoln around 3:00 Tuesday morning when he hit two cars.

Choiniere was ejected from his car. He and the drivers of the other two vehicles were sent to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that a truck driving by the scene of the crash attempted to avoid it and then collided with another car, sending that car off the roadway and causing minor injuries to that driver.

Choiniere will be charged with driving to endanger resulting in serious bodily injury.

The accident was not cleared until around 8 a.m.
