Movie starring Robert Redford set to film in Rhode Island

Movie star Robert Redford is returning to the Ocean State to film his upcoming movie.

Redford, will be joined along side Oscar nominee Rooney Mara and actor Jason Segel in filming "The Discovery", a sci-fi love story set in a world where the existence of the afterlife is scientifically proven.

The Rhode Island Film & Television office says filming is slated to begin for March and April in Rhode Island.

Redford plays the scientist responsible for this earth-shattering discovery, while Mara a woman, tinged by a tragic past, who falls in love with his rebellious son played by Segel.

This is Redford’s first film in Rhode Island since he starred in the two time Academy Award winning "The Great Gatsby."
