New York man indicted for child molestation in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A New York man has been indicted on charges he molested two children in Rhode Island.

Attorney General Peter Kilmartin says 33-year-old Jonathan Phillips, of Hampton Bay, New York, faces 10 counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree child molestation.

Prosecutors allege that Phillips molested two girls under the age of 14 between May 2011 and May 2013 in Cranston.

Phillips is scheduled to be arraigned March 23 in Providence Superior Court.

Online court records didn’t list an attorney for Phillips.

The Associated Press couldn’t find a phone listing for Phillips.
