New Bedford Police seize $10,000 worth of marijuana

Two neighbors in New Bedford were arrested on narcotics and firearms charges.

Police executed search warrants on the 2nd and 3rd floor apartments of 608 Summer St. Wednesday night.

Police arrested the 2nd floor apartment tenant, 34-year-old Michael Santos, where they found:

3 Marijuana growing operations in 3 separate rooms with a total of 39 plants
A high capacity .22 caliber Ruger rifle loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition
An additional 26 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition was also recovered
6 bags totaling 2.5 lbs. of Marijuana

In the 3rd floor apartment, police arrested 38-year-old Jose Irizzary, after police found:

Approximately 7 ounces of Marijuana
A 9 millimeter Glock Firearm
2 large capacity feeding devices
29 rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition
2 25 round rifle feeding devices
$349 in cash as well as scales and packaging material

Police say the plants could be valued around $10,000.
