Fall River police locate missing elderly man

A 77-year-old missing dementia patient from Pennsylvania is located in Fall River.

The Fall River Police Department received a 911 call on Friday at 7:58 a.m. from the confused elderly man.

The victim had slid on the ice in his Chrysler van and was disabled. He claimed to not know where he was.

The 911 location hit was off the map, but police were able to investigate the area near the Copicut Pond.

After almost two and one half hours of continuous search, Police were able to locate the victim on Quanapaug Road, covered in an inch of ice.

The victim was stabilized by police, and later attended by Dartmouth fire and rescue.

A stokes basket was fixed with 150 feet of rope and the victim was safely removed and transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital.

The victim suffers from dementia and other minor medical issues.

The victim’s wife says he left Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at approximately 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
