Add Pope Francis to the list of those who are not supporting Donald Trump.

"A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” said Pope Francis.

Traveling back to Rome after a trip to Mexico, the pope criticized Trump’s pledge to build a wall along the southern border of the U.S.

"As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this man is not Christian if he has said things like that,” Pope Francis said.

His comments prompted an immediate response from the outspoken presidential candidate.

"If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened,” Trump said.

Trump says he is a practicing Christian and says nobody has the right to question his religion.

"For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful,” Trump said.

But a Rhode Island state representative, who is a republican and a Christian, is on the pope’s side and believes this could be a major hit for Trump’s campaign.

"It doesn’t surprise me but I believe he’s hit complete rock bottom this time with the Pope,” said State Rep. Robert Nardolillo.

Providence Bishop Thomas Tobin also weighed in.

"It seems while the Holy Father is trying to build bridges of understanding and bring the human family together, Donald Trump is intent on building walls and dividing us, one from another,” said Bishop Tobin in a statement.
