Three teens were sent to the hospital after falling through the ice on a pond in Barrington Monday.

The teens, ages 15 to 17, were ice skating on Brickyard Pond when the ice broke beneath them. One teen was able to make it out quickly and call for help while the other two clung to the ice, neck-deep in water for ten to fifteen minutes.

The teens were able to make it out of the water right as rescue crews arrived on scene. They were each taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where they are being treated for hypothermia and are expected to be okay.

Safety personnel are advocating that "no ice is safe ice," and say skating is not allowed on the pond.
