WAREHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 70-year-old man who was found slain in his Wareham home.

The Plymouth district attorney’s office announced that 70-year-old John Witty, of Berkley, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on a murder charge in connection with the death of John Williams.

Williams was found in his home Tuesday by police performing a well-being check.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive.

Neighbors described Williams as a friendly man who was an amateur pilot, ham radio operator, and motorcycle enthusiast. He also worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Wareham.

It was unclear if Witty had a lawyer.
