Fall out over man dressed as woman continues in Cranston

The fall out continues in Cranston over a man that dressed as an elderly woman during a press conference last month.
The City Council was supposed to meet behind closed doors on Thursday about the scandal, but that executive session meeting was voted down 4 to 3.
Council President John Lanni says he wanted to go into executive session to get answers about the resignation of the city’s Senior Center Executive Director, Sue Stenhouse, in the wake of what happened.
"The taxpayers of this city are still left in the dark they don’t know what transpired at the senior center. The Republicans I’m sure with the Mayor’s approval blocked executive session,” said Lanni.
The group of councilors opposed to the closed door meeting said they didn’t see what it would accomplish.
"Whether she was asked to resign or she resigned she serves at the pleasure of the mayor so realistically there’s no need to go forward with it the only reason to have this meeting is to try to make something out of nothing and to hurt Alan Fung. I have no need to do that,” said Councilor Michael Farina.
Lanni says he will likely try to go into executive session at a later date when he is sure that he has the numbers to get a vote that will go in his favor.
We did reach out to the mayor for a statement, his press secretary says it is their policy not to comment on personnel matters.
