Two men accused of robbing a bank in Attleboro before leading police on a high speed chase were in court Tuesday.

James Bennet-Wara, 18, and Deurique Mendes, 31, are charged with robbing the Rockland Trust Bank on Pleasant Street Monday before taking off in a getaway car.

While on the road, Attleboro’s Police Chief, Kyle Heagney, observed the suspects fleeing and chased them through Attleboro, Norton, and Taunton.

Taunton Police eventually stopped the suspect vehicle by putting stop sticks in the road on Bay Street in Taunton. Attleboro Chief Heagney cornered the suspects by intentionally ramming into their vehicle and then took them into custody.
