A Warwick woman was arrested Monday after police say she broke into the Rhode Island Attorney General’s office.
Police were called to the office at 150 South Main Street in Providence at around 2:00 a.m. Responding officers found a vehicle parked in front of the building and a window smashed in.
Inside the main lobby, police located 45-year-old Cynthia Jones and took her into custody. Initial reports suggested the Rudolph was armed but police say it turned out to be a snow brush.
During Jones’ arraignment, police reports stated that she wanted to speak with the attorney general about "several personal problems."
ABC6 learned Jones is a Providence Public Schools employee. Upon receiving a report of the incident, Providence Public Schools officials immediately placed Ms. Jones on paid administrative leave.
Jones is charged with breaking and entering and interference with a fire alarm. She was held on $25,000 surety bail and ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. She is due back in court on February 8th.
