Police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ bank robbery suspect

Cranston Police are searching for an individual who robbed a Bank Rhode Island branch on Park Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the suspect entered the bank at around 12:40 p.m. and passed a note to a bank teller indicating she would be shot if she did not empty the cash register. The suspect then fled on foot, taking approximately $1,000 cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5’7 to 6’0, wearing a black hooded jacket, a white scarf that was partially covering his face, jeans, white sneakers with black laces, a grey and red knit hat and gloves.

Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
