Crews worked to put out a two-alarm fire at a single-family home in East Providence Friday night.
Flames erupted at a home at 68 Faith Street sending one person to the hospital.
Neighbors say they witnessed thick black smoke at first coming from the chimney. The home sustained heavy damage inside before firefighters were able to put out the flames around 11 p.m.
The Fire Chief says one person was taken to the hospital with burns, another was treated for smoke inhalation, and a third was treated on scene.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire, but it did start in the basement.
