Providence police investigate overnight stabbing

Providence police arrest a 43 year old man after a stabbing just after midnight on Sunday.

Police say that a 22 year old man was stabbed near the area of Updike and Davoll Streets.

The suspect, 43 year old Josue Neives , fled on foot but was arrested later on Sunday morning.

Neives was arrested without incident; he faces charges of first degree robbery and felony assault.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
