New Bedford man charged with child rape

Dartmouth Police have arrested a New Bedford man accused of raping a child.

59-year-old Clyde Souza, formerly of Dartmouth, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with two counts of rape of a child, and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

Souza was held on $50,000 cash bail. He’s due back in court on January 20th.
