Providence Police make arrest connected to January 2021 homicide

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A New Jersey man has been arrested by Providence Police, in connection to a homicide that took place in January 2021.

On January 31, 2021 approximately 12:26 a.m., police officers responded to the area of 315 Park Avenue in the City of Paterson in response to a report of a stabbing.

When police arrived on scene, 26-year-old Luis Ramirez was pronounced dead with stab wounds.

On December 22, 2021, at approximately 8:08 p.m., Providence Police arrested 22-year-old Roshane Latty who was wanted in relation to the homicide.

Latty was found in the area of Donigan Park in Providence, Rhode Island.

Latty is currently back in New Jersey in the custody of the Passaic County Jail, facing charges of: Murder, first degree; Possession of a Knife for an Unlawful Purpose, third degree; and Unlawful Possession of a Knife, fourth degree.
