Dog has died in blaze at Portsmouth home

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE)- Fire crews battled to put out a blaze at a Portsmouth home Tuesday morning.

Crews responded to the fire on Summit Rd.

More than 50% of the interior is a total loss, according to the Portsmouth Fire Chief.

The residence were not home at the time of the incident, but a dog did die in result to the fire.

The State Fire Marshall is on the scene, and still investigating the cause of the fire.
