Providence Police identify victim of the city’s 15th homicide

Providence police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that happened on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Julio Francisco Perez-Mejia.

Police have arrested 33-year-old Miquel Tebalan on charges of 1st degree murder and illegally possessing a knife while committing a crime. He was held without bail Thursday.

Officers responded to the residence at 121 Moore Street at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night where they found a Hispanic male with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are working to identify him.

Telaban has a bail hearing on January 7th.
