PC Friars Crack AP Top Ten for the First Time Since 1978

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Providence College men’s basketball team is ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 14 in the most recent USA Today Coaches Poll. Both polls were released today (December 21). It is the fourth consecutive week that the Friars have been ranked and the first time the team has been in the top 10 since the squad was No. 9/10 on January 24, 1978.  
The Friars have posted an 11-1 mark overall. Last week, the team recorded a 73-65 win over Rider on December 19 in the team’s only game.
Providence will return to action tonight (December 21) at UMass at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
