New Bedford man arrested for Fall River shooting

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- The Fall River Police Department announced the arrest of a man connected to a shooting that happened on December 26.

The shooting occurred on Eddy Street in Fall River. Detectives from Major Crimes in Fall River, New Bedford, and Massachusetts State Police were able to identify the suspect as Jeffrey Nunez, 37, of New Bedford.

Investigators found a 45 caliber handgun with ammunition in Nunez apartments through an obtained search warrant.

Nunez was taken into custody on January 12 without incident.

He has been charged with:

  • Attempt to commit assault and battery by discharging a firearm
  • Discharge a firearm within 500 FT of a building
  • Two counts of vandalize property
