Man charged with DUI after crashing into Coventry house

Coventry Police have arrested a Warwick man for DUI after he crashed into a home on Main Street early Tuesday morning.

Police say 30-year-old Allen Hanson was highly intoxicated when he left the Olde Theater Diner on Sandy Bottom Road before striking a telephone pole and a house at 1134 Main Street.

Fire and rescue personnel, as well as National Grid, responded to the scene. Hanson was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and treated for his injuries.

Hanson is charged with reckless driving and eluding police, driving under the influence with BAC unknown, driving after suspension of license, speeding, and leaving the lane of travel.
