Former youth coach sentenced for child porn charges

A former youth basketball coach plead no contest Tuesday to child porn charges and solicitation of a minor.

As part of the plea deal, 43-year-old Jason Elliott was sentenced to 12 years with four to serve, spending two at the ACI and the other on home confinement.

Elliott was arrested in 2013 when he was the coach for the Rhode Island Hawks, an AAU basketball team.

Police say Elliott had more than 500 child porn images on his computer and used those photos to talk to young men through certain mobile apps.
