Two men have been arrested and charged in Friday’s deadly shooting in Blackstone, Mass.
The Worcester County District Attorney announced that 34-year-old William Hodges, of Milford, and 25-year-old Brendan Bates, of Quincy have been charged with murder. They are half-brothers.
Kevin Gonsalves, 33, was shot and killed at 139 Mendon Street. Gonsalves, a Milford native, was already dead when first responders arrived on scene.
The DA’s office says the shooting was part of an ongoing disputed. Investigators found the gun used in the killing in a body of water in Mendon.
Those who live in the typically quiet neighborhood are on edge.
"It’s scary. It’s crazy," said Samantha Erickson of Blackstone. "It’s a nice quiet neighborhood. Nothing really bad happens. For the most part everyone knows each other around here."
Neighbors say that the house may have been vacant as they don’t recall anyone living there. Those who spoke to ABC6 did not know the victim.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Uxbridge District Court.
