Multiple reports say the Red Sox have signed free agent pitcher David Price to a 7-year contract worth $217M, the richest contract for a pitcher in major league baseball history.  There is said to be an opt out for Price after three years.

The 30-year old Price has pitched for the Rays, Tigers, and Blue Jays in a very consistant eight year career.  He has great durability, but has struggled in the playoffs where he has a 2 and 7 record with a 5.12 ERA.
