UPDATE: Fire destroys family home in Johnston

JOHNSTON – A home on Roger Williams Drive is in unlivable condition after a fire broke out on Saturday night.
According to the Fire Department, the fire happened around 11:30 p.m at 51 Roger Williams drive.
Fire officials say residents were not in the home when the fire started and according to members of the resident’s family, they are currently on a cruise.
No Firefighters were reported injured while they were battling the fire and a mutual aid service was called to assist the Johnston Fire Department.
A neighbor told ABC6 that 5 cats who lived in the home had not been seen since the fire.
2 cats were recently found dead inside and the other 3 are still missing.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown at this time.
