Dog dead, owner injured, following highway crash in Norton

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE)- A crash on 495 North in Norton left a dog dead and a man injured on Sunday night, according to Massachusetts State Police.

State Police said that the crash happened near Exit 27 at around 6:30 p.m.

The 31-year-old man, from Mansfield was outside of his car, which was pulled over in the left lane with no lights on.

While he was pulled over, a second car crashed into him and his car. The crash killed the mans dog and seriously injured him. He was then taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The 38-year-old woman who was driving the second car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, no further information is available at this time.
