Attorney General Maura Healey joins race for Governor

BOSTON, MASS. (WLNE)- Massachusetts Attorney General, Maura Healey has officially announced that she will be running for Governor.
“I’ve stood with you as the people’s lawyer, and now I’m running to be governor,” Healy said in a video launching her campaign Thursday morning.
“I’m running for Governor to bring out communities together and build an economy that helps every family thrive,” Healey pledged.
Healey is running against three other candidates and is considered an early frontrunner among Sen. Sonia Chang-Díaz, Harvard professor Danielle Allen, and Geoff Diehl.
Gov. Charlie Baker ruled out a third term in office.
Healey will hold a media availability at a campaign stop in Maverick Square in East Boston at 9:00a.m. to give brief remarks, take questions, and meet with voters.
