1 injured in Taunton crash

A motor vehicle accident in Taunton sends one driver to the hospital Saturday morning.

The driver of a 1978 Chevy pickup, whose identity was not immediately available, was transported to Morton Hospital with minor injuries after colliding with a tractor trailer.

Police say at 9:35 a.m. the driver of the pickup was traveling east on Route 44,  Winthrop Street.

After attempting to turn left into a Dunkin’ Donuts’ parking lot, the tracker trailer traveling west on the same road, swerved to dodge the pickup and crashed into a telephone pole.

No other injuries were reported.
