Police investigate fatal crash in Pawtucket

One person is dead after a motor vehicle crash in Pawtucket Wednesday.

The accident happened at the intersection of Newport and Gill Avenues when a pickup truck collided with another vehicle.

Police say the 71-year-old operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at Rhode Island Hospital. A passenger in the car was also taken to the hospital.

The identity of the victim has not been released and the crash is still under investigation.
